Juxtapoz

Juxtapoz is an art and culture magazine, from San Fransico, California.
I noticed this little beauty of a magazine in WHSmith, one day after a University lecture, I wandered into WHSmith and was looking around at the latest magazines that I might be interested in. Low and behold I found this! I was really intrigued as well because of who's artwork was on the front cover, this being Jean Jullien. I only really knew about his work quite recently, due to my brother.  So as soon as I saw it was his work on the front I knew that I needed it.

The magazine was £4.20 and I didn't think it was that bad, as I have bought magazines before for much more money. This particular edition was the April 16 edition.

On their website: http://www.juxtapoz.com/ - it helps to define what sort of magazine this is, and what sections are within the magazine itself. This being: Magazine, Painting, Photography, Graffiti, Music, Design, Fashion and More+

On the More+ category it has these categories: Street Art, Film, Illustration, Installation, Sculpture, Textiles, Books, Collectibles, and Pop Life.

'April showers bring May flowers, and in our case, April 2016 cover artist Jean Jullien brings intellectual wit and fun to the world of art. We've been huge fans of French-born, London-based Jullien for years now, and after his phenomenal Paris Peace art he created this past November, we thought it would be a good time to catch up with the world-famous humorist and artist. Our good friend, Grotesk, took care of a brilliant interview.' - From their website.
I now know that one of the most recent loved pictures that came about from Jean Jullien was in the aftermath of what happened in Paris in November. The Peace for Paris logo was created by Jullien, and I remember seeing it being posted on every social media that I had, this being: Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, and Facebook. The artwork that he created was so simple yet beautiful.
